She's a great mover and makes you play another ball, but I was ready for that.
She's a complete player. There's no big weakness in her game. I have to be ready for a tough match.
She played like she had nothing to lose, and it's dangerous to play those kind of players. I didn't really feel great out there today, but I did a very good job at the end.
Most of the top players are playing, aren't they?
I look forward to the challenge of doing well here. I want to protect my number one ranking.
I had only myself as company, ... It just made me tougher.
I felt pretty good out there, ... I was hitting pretty solid, doing the right things, serving well, putting pressure on her.
I felt I could break her any time. I know people are hungry to beat me after I won Wimbledon but I love beating them too.
I fell ill during the trip from Tokyo to Paris,
I feel optimistic about the Open and my shoulder is doing well,
I feel like I'm mentally tougher out there,
I can't please everyone. That's not in my J.D., you know, not in my job description.
What I do best is compete. This is just something I do for fun.
Obviously, I felt a little tired but that's normal after playing four straight weeks. I mean, I'm not gonna feel great. My body's not gonna feel great. That's absolutely normal. But I just have to give it all I had, and I tried. But, you know, at the end of the day, just come up short. That's all right.
