It never gets boring for me because there's so many different things to explore in the studio. The studio's become the sanctuary that people have come in and found new things out about themselves, as weird as that sounds. But it's true, I'm no different. I've made some crazy hard records, and I've made a jazz album.
At first you're doing it for yourself, it's about what sounds good to you. It's about expressing yourself. Then you get comfortable as an artist and you find yourself and people get familiar.
My ideology was, if I just make very happy music, very happy music, then people will forget about whatever their problems are. I will forget about my problems.
I just like to sing for people who have lost love.
You can be labelled but if it doesn't speak to people then it won't work. The social media and online has been really important. Fans are really smart too: they don't want to hear something manufactured or something that has too much marketing behind it.
I think that with the Internet, it has given a lot of people the opportunity to get themselves out there to the masses. But it's easy to group everyone that's on the Internet together. I try to cross and jump around between genres and different styles, kind of find my own niche.
People don't really give me much anymore, and for good reason. I have to pay for a lot of stuff now, I can afford a lot more than I ever could before. No one really gives me anything anymore, but it feels good.
People love you when they on your mind/A thought is love's currency,
People change and things go wrong but just remember life goes on.
'Cruise Control' was the first track me and Wiz Khalifa ever did. I made the beat on that, and I played guitar on it.
When I was a kid, hip-hop had that effect on me, it was escape and it showed me a different way of life.
I like tattoos. I'm gonna be covered. I'm not going to touch my face or under the chin on the neck: it's my least favorite place.
I've been playing a guitar since I was 10 years old.
It seems I’m getting fresher everytime I turn around.
