Actually, I had planned on talking to (Bowden) about it before he came up to me. He kind of started it off, so I'm sure he sensed it. We spoke about it again (Wednesday) and he just really wants me to be able to prove that I can be consistent as far as carrying the ball 15 or 16 times and being productive with it.

This is a game that could possibly never happen again. You have to coach a long time to get as many victories as these two guys have. At coach Bowden's age, you never know what he's going to do on any given day and you never know which game is going to be his last, so I want to be a part of the team that sends him packing as a happy man.

If it's a situation like (2004) with Leon, then there's nothing to think about, because I know I'm going to get the ball. But you don't know now, you just don't know. That's the worst part because it bothers me when I think of coming back and you don't have a sense of security.

That bothers me the most. We had all the momentum. Not only a blocked punt, but a second blocked punt... we're at home, the crowd is going nuts, you couldn't have asked for a better situation.... and we couldn't capitalize. We couldn't make it happen.

I don't know if he regrets it or not, but I know he definitely didn't foresee this happening. Neither one of us is where we were last year. But from a team aspect, we're ACC champs, which we weren't last year.

For somebody to say it's not a big deal, I think they'd be lying. This is like a once-in-a-lifetime deal, and it's not going to happen for another century. We won't be alive, because you have to coach a long time to do what these guys have done.
