both felt second sloppy win
Both of us got a little sloppy in the second set. It felt really tiring. I felt like I got to win in two sets.
coming court fly great high losing opportunity perform relax tournament win york
Coming here, it's been a really great opportunity to relax and get back out on the court right away after losing in New York ... I wouldn't fly all this way if I didn't want to win the tournament and perform at a high level.
chance tennis turn win
You give yourself a chance to try to win because in tennis things can turn around so quickly.
again control finish fired four games glad middle played row winning
I was really fired up to play well and I'm glad I did that, ... I was in control of most of the match, dictating most of the rallies and played very well winning those four games in a row in the middle of the first set and again to finish the match.
allow ball felt hitting stepping winners
It felt great. I feel like I didn't allow her to do too much with her game, and I was hitting a lot of winners and stepping in and hitting the ball hard.
ability encompass great handled players playing since tennis trying winning
I think she has handled everything that has come her way really well since winning Wimbledon. I mean, she's still very young and is a very great player. Other players handle things differently. I'm one who can't handle anything but playing tennis and trying to be married. But other players have the ability to encompass a lot more.
compete court definitely exciting force four grand slam three winners
It definitely would make it more exciting if three of the four Grand Slam winners were here. You can't force someone to go out on the court when they don't feel like they want to compete at this level.
bali excited glad means players thinking win won
I am really excited to win over 50 titles, ... That means a lot to me as not many players have won that. I was thinking about it after I won Bali and was glad to be able to do it here right off the bat.
beginning compete consistent forward game good looking matches obviously playing predicted trying week win
I wouldn't have necessarily predicted that at the beginning of the week, ... I didn't know how my game would be. Obviously I am a consistent performer, but the way everything has kind of panned out it's been a good week for me, just trying to win matches and trying to be out there and win and compete when I don't feel like I am playing my best, and looking forward to another opportunity.
ball consistent finally points win
She mixes up the ball so much you never really get any rhythm, and finally I got a little more consistent and was able to win the big points today.
bit dramatic takes wins
She is a little bit dramatic when she wins and it takes her a while to get to the net,
difference far finds girl level opponent playing power sure top win
More than anything, the girl finds a way to win and finds a way to get her opponent uncomfortable; I'm sure she has a way to negate power still. Sometimes, we have a difference in level between top 10 and then 10 through 20, but so far she's been playing excellent.
amazed finally happy improve open pull satisfying sitting struggling win
I'm a little happy and amazed to be sitting here winning, ... There are a lot of things I'd like to improve on before the US Open but it's so satisfying to win the title. I was always struggling in the final. After all these years, I'm happy to finally pull it out.
best far felt happy momentum played today win
I felt like today was the best I've played here so far this year. I'm really happy to play well and get some momentum going. I want to win this again.
