committed course fact finish focus good grand matches mean mine mission proud season slam title top win year
It's not a mission of mine to end the year No.1. I know if I win everything I have a very good chance, but I just want to focus on the matches I have to win and the tournaments that I'm committed to for the remainder of this year. Of course I'd take another Grand Slam title over the No.1 ranking any day, but I am proud of the fact that I'll probably finish another season at least in the Top Three. That's no mean feat.
amazed expect happy improve matches sitting title
I'm happy and amazed that I'm sitting here winning, ... You never know what to expect when you come back. I'm really happy I got the matches in, (but) I still think there's a lot of things I would like to improve on before the US Open, but to sit here with a title is pretty rewarding.
absolutely believe career contention court plans playing titles
Obviously, you never know when a career is going come to an end, ... I have no absolute, no plans to stop. If I said on court as long as I am playing and in contention for titles and not injured, I am going to be back, I absolutely believe that.
excited titles
I was really, really excited to get 50 titles and get it so quickly,
best coming confidence expect gives playing title win
I didn't know what to expect coming back after my injury, but to win the title without playing my best gives me a lot of confidence going into the US Open.
grand judged slam title titles win
I want to win this title again. I think that you are really, at the end of the day, judged on how many Grand Slam titles you have, and probably how many titles you have.
hope matter titles win
It is a milestone, ... I hope I get there. But 48 is still pretty amazing, no matter what happens, and it's been great. I couldn't have guessed that I would win that many titles in my career, so I will try and get the 50.
bigger challenge great occasion presents returning sure
I'm sure it will be a great, great atmosphere, ... It presents a bigger challenge and a bigger occasion being in Switzerland, for her. I'm really going to have to concentrate on returning serve.
best conditions improve plays second settle took
I'm never one that necessarily plays their best right off the bat. It took a little while to settle into the conditions and how Rika plays, but I do feel I started to improve some things in the second set.
ball best despite knew playing striking win
I knew it would be tough, ... I didn't feel I was playing my best or striking the ball that well, but I still managed to win despite the circumstances.
break felt knew played rusty trying
I knew I'd be rusty and trying to find my rhythm. I felt I got a break at 4-4 in the first set. After that, I played calmer and more consistent.
chances knew
I knew that if it wasn't in two sets, that my chances were significantly reduced.
happy healthy matches obviously positive ready rust test tournament week win
I'm really happy that I was able to come here and get through these matches and still feel healthy and ready to go to New York, ... This was a big test for my back. I think it was real important just to play some matches and get the rust out of my game. Obviously to win this tournament is a bonus. Overall, the week was nothing but a positive for me.
happy healthy matches ready
I'm really happy first of all, I was able to come here and get through all these matches and still feel healthy and ready to go for New York,
