We wanted to start off strong and just go after them -- keep being aggressive on offense and getting stops on defense. It always goes back to rebounding and defense for us. That's what this program was built on.

It was a battle for 40 minutes, back and forth, the crowd was into it. We were into it. It came down to the last shot. But that was last year; this is this year. We can't go back to last year.

freshman good high race ran school tough until year
It's a tough race, but, I don't know, I like it. I never ran the 400 until my freshman year in high school but I'm pretty good at it and I like it.

It was definitely back and forth and hard fought for everything. But we're blue-collar, we're willing to fight for anything and this is only going to help us in the end.

We're playing four straight at home, and it's exciting to play in front of big crowds. We just have to keep getting better now that we're playing games at a higher level like this week. We're really looking forward to it.

We're getting better, for sure. It's just going to keep gradually coming. We have a lot of talent, a lot of potential. It's just a matter of putting it all together to get to that higher level.

We still have a lot to do. Obviously we have to step up because we've been through everything in our four years here. We just have to go out there and play all out. You have to really go after it, play for each other and know that this could be your last game.

That's not how we wanted to come out in the second half. We talked about focusing more on defense and coming out focused in the second half. It came down to possession basketball and we didn't take care of our possessions well at all.

As a player you try and just block that out until the end. I'm focused on the end of my career here, I don't want to look forward. Obviously, everything's up in the air with the future. But right now, right here, I just want to go out on a solid note.
dame fought games last lose maturity played tough
I think we had more maturity last year. We played in some tough games in Connecticut and Notre Dame and fought through them and won. It doesn't take us to lose to learn.
