few guys record reflect
At the end of day, the record won't reflect guys weren't available, someone was sick. At the end of the year, we need to have a few more Ws.
fighting fights-and-fighting guys proud
I was proud of our guys for fighting back at the end. We just couldn't get over the hump.
execution guys lack last learned maintained obvious proud time
I was proud of the way that we maintained our intensity. It's obvious that the guys learned a lot from our lack of execution our last time out.
asked guys happen second step
I don't know when it happened. But when I asked him in the second half, he said he couldn't go. These are things that happen to a team, but you have to have other guys step up.
beginning consistent determine exception exposed guys heard latter league maybe rock shape sock team until year
You guys have heard me from the beginning of the year; I've been consistent about this. This is going to be a different year from what you guys have been exposed to. This league will be -- with the exception of one team and maybe two, it's going to be rock 'em sock 'em, and you're not going to be able to determine how this thing is going to shape up until the latter part of the season.
close difficult guy move officials throw time top
It's very difficult to throw over a (6-10) guy that close right on top of you like that. Most of the time the officials will tell you to move back a little bit, but that wasn't the case.
al andrew bit close four freshmen giving good growing guys juniors last leadership lost maturing playing pressure program reason taking three todd year
We're still in a growing up stage. Last year we relied on a lot of freshmen and sophomores and we lost a lot of close games. One reason the sophomores from last year who are now juniors are playing better is because they're more experienced. A.J. (Johnson) and Al Thornton are giving us good leadership, and we're getting leadership from our three seniors. Todd Galloway has been in the program for four years, so has Andrew Wilson. We have some guys who are maturing a little bit and it's taking some pressure off of our new players.
gave good guys miss people
We'll miss those guys more than people want to accept. They gave us a lot of good leadership.
anybody cross energy giving good guy knows plays quite sure tim
He's kind of a cross between Tim and Nate. He has pretty good savvy. He doesn't have quite the energy that Tim had, but I'm not real sure anybody does. But he's a guy who plays with passion. He only knows one way, and that's giving it all he has.
came experience games guess guys journey mentally overcoming physically prepared types
Part of the journey is overcoming obstacles, and this was one I thought mentally and physically we were prepared for. I guess I'd say that Duke's experience in being in these types of games with experienced guys came through.
continue game guy player works
He works at his game as much as any player I've ever seen. A guy with that kind of attitude, you know he's going to continue to keep getting better.
basketball circumstance coaching game guys heard injured maybe player
I know in my 30 years of coaching I have never heard of a player getting injured under any circumstances in a celebration after a game - not at a basketball game. Maybe you guys have, but I haven't.
cushion good guy
He's the kind of guy we had to give some cushion because he's a good driver. He's a very good player.
clicking defense defensive finding guys last less looks open people seen system understanding
In the last two games, you've seen our defense kind of clicking where guys are rotating. We're getting more deflections. You're finding less people getting good, open looks because now we have a better understanding of how the defensive system works.
