hope maintain season
What we have to do is maintain hope, and hope that we've done enough during the season to give us an opportunity. There's not a whole lot more we can say.
care
We are in the NIT, and now we just have to go out and take care of business, and I thought we responded real well.
gave good guys miss people
We'll miss those guys more than people want to accept. They gave us a lot of good leadership.
basketball building climb mature next process seem shown signs step
Unfortunately we have shown signs of not being mature enough sometimes. To climb we always seem to have to take a little step back before we take the next jump. Sometimes that's part of the development process you go through when you're building basketball programs.
coming country opportunity realize team
You have the No. 1 team in the country coming in to play you and you want to realize some opportunities. So what better opportunity can you have?
amount focus people played players road tremendous
To go on the road in the ACC and come away with the victory, you have to have a lot of people play very well. I thought our players played with a tremendous amount of focus and aggressiveness.
contests free great grown hit rebounds team throws
Our team has grown up a little bit. We had some great contests when they had some looks, we got some big rebounds and we hit some very important free throws down the stretch. That's a team that's maturing.
almost continues team win
Our team continues to play well enough to almost win games.
close difficult offensive second team
They got 13 offensive rebounds, and if you give a team that many second opportunities in a close game, that's something very difficult to overcome.
best burden heavy shot
They get every team's best shot because they're Duke. It's a heavy burden for them to have to be at their best every night.
four great sure switching
They have such great perimeter shooters that we had to go to switching one through four just to make sure that we were there on the catch, and we had not done a whole lot of that.
bench brought coming comments communication energy enthusiasm extremely game interview players thinking unlike
As I was coming in (the interview room), I was thinking about how much energy he brought to the game tonight. His comments and his enthusiasm on the bench and his communication with the players was extremely animated, unlike A.J. Sometimes he is very quiet, but he had a lot to say.
advantage aggressive anyone hard maybe quality talented
That's who we are. We don't necessarily feel that we're more talented than anyone else, but we feel if we play hard and aggressive ? then maybe we can have an advantage because of our quality of depth.
adjusting al anyone burning desire feeling good gym himself matter reacting spends style time
Al has always had a burning desire to be a good player. He spends more time in the gym by himself than anyone we've had. For him, it was just a matter of adjusting to our style and feeling comfortable. He's now reacting and not thinking.
