Larry Buchanan

Larry Buchanan
Larry Buchanan, born Marcus Larry Seale Jr., was a film director, producer and writer, who proclaimed himself a "schlockmeister." Many of his titles have landed on "worst movie" lists or in the public domain, but all at least broke even and many made a profit. He is perhaps most famous for the films In the Year 2889, The Eye Creatures, Zontar, the Thing from Venus, Curse of the Swamp Creature, Mars Needs Women, and It's Alive!...

I wanted to be a director and producer and writer, but in the early '40's the union wouldn't let you get through the gates. You couldn't get on a crew, or even learn to direct.
I have talked to kids who have stopped doing these things on the weekend because they don't want to get caught. Obviously, you can't get every kid, but if you can save at least one life, to me that's priceless.
I'm expecting to get a couple more years out of these computers.
