We're going to try to get him in somehow because he's done too much for the program. If all he can do is bunt, I can take whatever happens because that kid is going to give 100 percent.

When it's over, one team will have won and one team will have lost. One team will be up as far as the district race goes. We go to Central Friday, and they go to River Ridge. That's basically it, bragging rights for 24 hours until you have to play the next day.

He's a good competitor. I probably should've gotten him out a little early, but I just wanted to see what his mettle is. He proved it.

This was sort of like our Cinderella, to come through here 1-0 and hold them after the pounding they've been giving to people. But you give credit. We got the pitches, and we made the plays defensively.

We're young, but that's no excuse. In a game against this type of ball club, you can't make mistakes.

It looks like the catcher's mitt will sustain a bullet, so I think it'll protect him. We'll just have to see pitching-wise how they structure the hat as far as the uniform goes.

There were no American Idols here tonight. That was ugly.

Jeff came out and threw strikes. His pitches were up a little bit, but of course the mask was slipping. I was pretty pleased.
