front learned maturity player sit somebody understood
I've learned that it's one thing for a young player to have somebody like that in front of him. It's another thing for you to have the maturity to sit back and actually learn and not be selfish. I had it right away, because I understood my situation.
considered elite finish front guarantee held points team top
When you get on top of a team, you have to finish them off. I guarantee you that a team like the Patriots or Colts, if they got out in front like we did, they probably would have put up 40 or 50 points and held them, and it wouldn't have even been a game. If we want to be considered an elite team, when we've got a team down like that, we've got to finish them early.
ball beating drives field finish move week
Like I say every week when we lose, we move the ball up and down the field on teams, but we just can't finish the drives because we end up beating ourselves.
against ball capable defense encourage forever run running saying teams test today true
I will forever look at it as teams saying we can't run the ball, ... I encourage defenses to play that way. If you play two-deep defense against us with the way we're capable of running the ball ... we are going to run the ball down your throat. I think today was a true test of that.
hate nfl quite sit team year
I would hate for us to sit here at the end of the year and say we were the most underachieving team in the NFL because if we don't make it to the playoffs, we will be the most underachieving team in the league. And quite frankly, it will be an embarrassment.
held job realize step
We've done enough talking. What we have to do now is step up, be held accountable, realize we're professional athletes, that we have a job to do, and we have to go out there and do it,
based guy judge man media portrayed randy
I'm not going to judge a guy based on how he's portrayed in the media. I'm going to judge this man based on him.' And Randy ... he's been phenomenal.
coming hurt penalties
That's something I'm not used to. Coming from New York, one of the least-penalized teams, I learned: Penalties hurt you.
changing coming league lost minimize news rest team thinks
That's one thing I'm not used to coming from New York. I got news for the rest of the league. That team (the Patriots) is not changing. If the league thinks that team is changing because it lost two coordinators, it isn't. They minimize mistakes. That's something we've got to do.
character football lets
It lets you know about the character of your football team,
minimize penalty stop team
We just keep getting penalty after penalty. ... If we can minimize those things, then I don't see a team out there that can stop us. That's why I say it's really all about us.
across bad emotion expect fast field guy guys hard impressed job media negative plays practice runs seems shows situation teammates tremendous walked
You guys (in the media) have done a tremendous job of making him look like a bad guy. But I've been most impressed by Randy. I didn't know what to expect because I didn't know him. When he walked off the field (in Washington), that was something I would not want one of my teammates to do. But I also don't know what the situation was in Minnesota. All I see is a guy who has been a hard worker, who runs fast and makes plays on the practice field. He shows a lot of emotion on the field; he seems to be all about winning. He doesn't come across as an outcast. He doesn't come across in a negative way.
against beat bowl champion england lost super
You can't come out against the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots and make that many penalties, ... They won't beat themselves. Granted, they lost two coordinators, but they haven't changed.
field hands illegal
We had a third-and-long situation, and we are getting off the field when we get a roughing the passer ... and we get an illegal hands down the field,
