Millions still live poor and isolated lives. Millions more have found their lives disrupted, even destroyed, by global economic forces they do not understand and cannot control,
This technology is far less capital-intensive than old industrial technology, and therefore may enable poor countries to leapfrog some of the long and painful stages of development that others had to go through,
So we should be clear that in this situation, we will take the measures to make sure poor and rich have access to the medication and the vaccine required, ... And the decision should be taken ahead of time so that we don't have to quibble about it when the critical and the crisis moment arrive.
The lack of major gains here... would be a severe disappointment for poor people around the world yearning to lift themselves out of poverty.
I recognize that there are no simple solutions to the debt problem, ... But where there is agreement in principle that debt relief is essential and when delays have a profoundly negative impact of the lives of poor people, clearly more must be done.
Let us work in partnerships between rich and poor to improve the opportunities of all human beings to build better lives.
