easier fewer
It was easier than Wednesday, but not much easier. I started better and made fewer mistakes, but still some mistakes, which was the difference.
australian match open played week weeks
I want to have a match here so that I don't go into the Australian Open without having played a match for a week and a half, two weeks almost.
hard
I want to give it a go and I want to try as hard as I can to get better,
bit consistent good serves suffering three tonight
I started off better tonight than in the first match. I had three really good games, but then I couldn't keep it going. I'm still not consistent enough, and I haven't been getting enough first serves in. I'm still suffering from a bit of a cold, which hasn't helped.
best hurts knew moments move physically protect trying worse
It was actually worse at the end, but I got through, that's the most important thing. I knew that before I started I wasn't going to be able to play like I usually can, move freely. It hurts a lot. There's moments where it hurts. There's moments where it doesn't. So I just have to protect it. I knew that. I was just trying to get the best out of myself with the way that I physically can, that's all I'm going to try to do.
ankle felt hit position trying twisted
I twisted the ankle trying to position myself to hit a backhand. I immediately felt something wasn't right.
It's amazing. I just said 'go for your shots' and it worked.
amazing feeling last
It's an amazing feeling to have, especially being out last year,
happy
It's a miracle, I am so happy with my game.
ball bit couple days hit last took touching until
It just took me a while to get used to the new stadium, ... I didn't hit a ball the last two days until my warm-up today. I just wanted to have a couple days off without touching the racquet. Didn't want to have anything to do with tennis. I think you just have to get used to it a little bit again.
ahead compliment match takes tough work
It's a compliment but I've got a tough match ahead of me and it takes a lot of work.
form good players playing tough
There are a lot of good players here this week, but Amelie is in form and playing well so she will be tough to beat.
When I'm in New York, I like to go see musicals,
ambassador ask bother good known nice people rather talking win
A lot of people ask me, 'Are you too nice to win tournaments?' I mean, you know, I'd rather be known as a nice person who was a good ambassador for the sport of tennis. But, I mean, it doesn't really bother me too much what the people are talking about.
