It's a very high-octane show with a pace that we've never seen in the 'Law & Order' shows before -- very kinetic, and very young, ... I don't want any assumptions (by the viewer) that it needed to adhere to the 'Law & Order' conventions.

It's been a struggle to find that next evolution of comedy. Earl was our highest-testing show in 15 years, which was kind of a surprise. But we definitely need cutting-edge comedies like that.
