I wasn't going to feed into what you guys wanted me to say,
We knew that if we came in here and played around or didn't play with the right mind set, we were going to get blown out. We came in and took some of their 3-pointers away.
You guys, you go to work, and when a new colleague comes in you have to form chemistry and try to work with that. Sometimes that transition is a rough one.
When you lose, the easy part is to see who gives up. Giving up is very simple. You basically take your stuff and walk away. To continue to work and to continue to compete is one of the most difficult things, especially when you really don't have anything to play for other than dignity and self-perseverance. That's when you see who's really with you.
Even though we've been losing and going through hard times, we've kept our morale up.
Everybody, including the coaches, keep looking forward to the playoffs, the playoffs. But we need to focus on one game at a time instead of looking down the road.
Everybody from A to Z has to be ready to play, and sometimes that's not the case. It's a little more difficult on the road, dealing with the crowd and different elements, but that's no excuse.
Tonight, you had a more energetic team. A team that was feistier.
Tonight's win was great. It was a win we definitely needed. For the most part we all played together. We played aggressively. The defense was probably what won the game for us.
We've got a lot of new faces, a lot of variables, ... Can we win? Can we not win? What kind of team it's going to be. Our identity. How different things take shape. We'll find out pretty soon.
We're two totally different people from two totally different parts of the earth. I think people are wanting it to be more than what it really was. It wasn't like we hated each other. We spoke every day, said what's up, had conversations, cracked jokes, just like any other teammate in here. Basketball-wise, came in, did what we had to do to get a win. Sometimes we didn't get it. We're both competitive.
We weren't able to do anything on the offensive end that we were doing in the first half. We were not spacing and moving correctly and we weren't able to figure out what they are doing. They played well when they had to.
I have faith in Glen that he'll do the right thing.
I don't know, man. This whole thing is an adjustment. I'm just trying to figure it out as we go.
