Marko was aggressive tonight. It was the first night when we didn't have to say much to him. I think he came here with a little chip on his shoulder, some kind of edge with him.
Usually we get a better boost from our bench. It's been a rough 48 hours, personally. For the most part today, we withstood every blow, and then the fourth quarter came and they were a lot more aggressive.
We knew that if we came in here and played around or didn't play with the right mind set, we were going to get blown out. We came in and took some of their 3-pointers away.
We're two totally different people from two totally different parts of the earth. I think people are wanting it to be more than what it really was. It wasn't like we hated each other. We spoke every day, said what's up, had conversations, cracked jokes, just like any other teammate in here. Basketball-wise, came in, did what we had to do to get a win. Sometimes we didn't get it. We're both competitive.
It was a game that we had to have. As far as momentum and trying to create some with our schedule, this came at the right time...Playing a team that is an aggressive team, I thought we did a good job of meeting that aggression.
Any close game is a tough game. We lost to Houston last night and came in here with a little bit of an edge on us. I think we showed that a little bit. We came out with decent energy; the second half, we just didn't play well.
A.C. was unbelievable with energy. He came in and kicked it off. When A.C. came in, the tempo just picked up immediately.
I thought the call that was before that was sort of a cheap call. I just came down and was frustrated. By no means was I trying to hit a fan. If anything, I was trying to get a delay of game. Unfortunately, that happened. I apologized to the little girl and her father.
I just took what he gave me. It felt good and looked good, from my perspective, but it just came out,
I should have had a little more control than that.
I've never had (a) beef with World. Personally, we were teammates. We understood that. I understood that. As the primary (option) on this team, I felt it was my responsibility to have the ball come through me, and I consolidated and distributed to everybody. I don't know if World was bothered by that.
The zone tonight was a big problem. The zone slowed us down and made us stagnant and not as aggressive.
Even though we've been losing and going through hard times, we've kept our morale up.
The third quarter has been our Achilles heel pretty much the whole year.
