We've been playing a little bit sloppy lately and I was very impressed with the way they stepped up and showed leadership.

I think he's the most feared batter in the league. I can't tell you how many times he's been intentionally walked this season. It's been at least 11 times, maybe more. His power is just unbelievable.

That was Taylor's biggest hit this season. I like how he battles and puts in the extra time to improve.

That was a great piece of hitting by Welch. Cole put the ball three inches outside, and he still pulled it over the (right-field) fence.

I'm strong enough to hold it. But I can't swing it.

He looked like a midget standing next to it.

It was absolutely horrible. It was more frustrating nights than you could shake a stick at.
confidence kid pitch relief shows week
Cole will pitch only once a week for us, with no relief work. That kid really battles. He shows nothing but confidence on the mound.

I'm very pleased with the way we're playing.

I knew the kids wouldn't get nervous out there. We've played in a lot of close games. They just did what I expected them to do.

I gave him the green light because I figured they'd throw him a fastball, and they did and he crushed it.

I wanted to win those games more than anything.
