plan specific stop talked team
We didn't have a specific plan to stop him. We just talked about how as a team they can really score.
cut drop fan game keeping less moving puck situations waiting watch
If you look at the way we do our scrimmages here it's all about keeping the game moving and having less whistles, ... It's a more-fun way to watch the game. So I think from a fan perspective, anything in the game that can keep the puck in play and cut down the waiting around for referees to drop pucks in face-off situations are good. So I have no problem.
bubble competing decisions difficult easy eight good guys rather spots
It's easy to know the guys who are on the team, but we have that bubble of eight to 10 spots that we need to make decisions on. All the guys that are competing for those spots did a good job. We'd rather have that. It's going to make for difficult decisions eventually, but it's good to see that the guys competing for those spots can play.
easily four guys list
There's too many of them to know right now. It's not like we can easily list that these four guys are going for these two spots. There's just too many right now.
beginning hard penalty plays power
It's just hard to know what's going to happen, but in the beginning there could be a lot more power plays and penalty kills.
clicking game power seems
It seems that if our power play is clicking and our goaltending is in order, we've been winning. Of course, there's more to the game than those two things, but they are two big factors.
feet high obviously somebody stick
It wasn't even close. It was obviously a high stick and somebody out there has to see it. It wasn't just high, it was two feet high.
act balancing concerned difficult playing proper rested staying time year
This is a challenging time of year because there isn't a lot to play for in the standings. It's a balancing act between staying healthy, getting rested and still playing proper hockey. It's different and difficult because the rest of the year all you're concerned about is winning.
core goals league mystery potential rare score skill team year
This is a mystery year for us. It's pretty rare in this league when the core of your team is 17, and that's what we have. We have the potential to have a lot more skill and score a lot more goals this season.
hoped simplest
It's pretty severe. We had hoped it was just a twinge, but he couldn't even do the simplest drill.
choice tough
Then we have no choice but to make some tough decisions.
bad gave goals grade saves
I'd give Leland about a C grade for the game. I don't think he gave up a lot of bad goals where you would give him a D or an F, but he didn't make the big saves when he had to, either.
based game good half ice last played situation start won
He played really good in a start in Calgary and won the last game of the first half in Seattle, so we felt, based on that, he'd get more ice time. We just try to take the goaltender situation game by game.
discussed given last
It's bothersome. We've given up way too many two-on-ones and breakaways over the last 10 days, and we've discussed it as a team.
