Each of us went to him and wanted to make sure he's OK. He says he's OK. He's made us very relaxed.
earn last night sunday walk whoever wins year
It's night and day from last year what they did to that hole. It's an animal. Whoever wins Sunday is not just going to walk away with the win. They're going to have to earn it.
bolt champions defending excited knowing lee nervous work
I'm just excited to be the defending champion. I'm going to be nervous knowing that Tommy Bolt and Lee Trevino are going to be at the Champions Dinner. I'll have to work on something to liven up the party.
against bad cushion felt hit jack left mike mother pin putt tom
It was me and Tom Watson against him and Mike Weir, ... The whole day, Jack was needling me. If I hit a bad shot, left a putt short, whatever. He'd say, 'Yeah, my mother would have done it like that.' And I was thinking, 'Did he just say something about me?' I felt like a pin cushion out there.
couple head present quite ready shot somehow thinking today
I've got to somehow regroup. I shot a couple over today in the pro-am. ... My head wasn't quite in it. I was out in space. I'm thinking too much in the past. I've got to refocus, get back in the present and get ready to play golf.
best goes guys perks trying whatever
It's just about always the same. I know what I like. I know where I play my best golf. I think most guys feel that all those perks or whatever else goes with a tournament, they're nice, they're appreciated, but you have to go where you think you can win, because out here that's what we're all trying to do.
couple fire golf hit last played tour yards
Skill? That's kind of where the tour has gone. You can hit it 50 yards off-line and hit a wedge out of the rough. They can still fire at the flagstick. That's the way golf has played out the last couple of years.
caught ended lead sure taking thinking turn win
We're going to turn it around and win this thing.' That what I was thinking to myself the whole time. Sure enough, we birdied two holes, they let two get away, we caught them and ended up taking the lead on them and kind of cruised to victory.
best concerned feels fine great none partners playing says stressful sure
First of all we are concerned about him. I think each of us went up to him and wanted to make sure he's OK. He's a great player, a great team-mate so we want the best for David. He says he's playing great and feels fine so we have to go with what he says. We're going to make sure none of his playing partners put him in stressful situations.
atlanta black cannot experience men relish rest thank
We cannot thank 100 Black Men of Atlanta enough. It was an unbelievable trip. This is an experience that we will relish for the rest of our lives.
golf
I've never experienced anything like that, ... in all my years on the golf course.
rather safe spectators understand
You've still got to get spectators off and get them safe. I understand that. I'm not a weatherman. If they thought it was close, I'd rather be safe than sorry.
country glad great guys kept putt realize riding stand team top
My first thought was I'm glad it wasn't me out there, ... It was intense. They kept making putt on top of putt, and they were clutch. It made me realize how great those guys really are, to realize their whole team and country were riding on their back, and they were able to stand up to it.
bad finally jack knew looked needle stuck tom
I looked over at Weir and said, 'Can I say something to him?' But that's Jack Nicklaus. I can't needle that guy, ... It got so bad that Tom Watson finally stuck up for me, because he knew I wasn't going to say anything.
