capable count filling guys starts step three
This year, we are going to count on some guys filling those holes, and it starts with our three seniors. We need guys to step up from what they have done in the past, but I don't think it is a step up from what they are capable of.
athlete capable certainly counting good indication last mike numbers
If you look at his numbers from last season, they were certainly not what he wanted. (It wasn't) what he is capable of, or any indication of what he can do. Mike is a good competitor, athlete and player. I am counting on him to make some major-league strides.
closer doubles indoor match point team ups worked
It was unfortunate. I thought they were a better indoor team than we were and their match ups worked at No. 2 and No. 3 because they got one of those points. The doubles point was a lot closer this time, and we had our chances.
doubles extremely finish four hours night people singles six slept sunday three
I slept about four hours Sunday night. I was extremely disappointed about that match. We need to finish people off and not let them get back into it, and I think we need all six singles and all three doubles really in sync.
broke game guy limited mentally playing tougher won
Arnaud had that guy beat. Had he not cramped up, Arnaud would have won the match. He was mentally tougher and playing more disciplined than his opponent. He broke his opponent's game down and slowed it down, but he cramped up and that really limited him.
cramp guy mentally tougher win
Arnaud had his guy beat. If he didn't cramp there, we win that match. Arnaud was mentally tougher than that guy and he was more disciplined.
definitely doubles work
Our doubles has not been working. We definitely need work in that department, and it is something we will really work on when we get back to Bloomington.
competing developed forward gone improved looking opportunity season ten
We have developed and improved as the season has gone along. This is another opportunity for us, and we are looking forward to competing in the Big Ten Championship.
against bad good handle mentally percent player ranked ready tennis
There's not too much more you can do as a tennis player than give it 100 percent -- physically, mentally and emotionally. That's what you should be doing against someone that's ranked 200 or four. And being that it's the Big Ten season, we need everyone to be ready to handle the good times and ready to handle the bad times as well.
against close effort good learn losing mean people played putting start together until
We played better in a losing effort against a good team. We need to start putting together some wins. We are competitive against a top-notch opponent, but it really doesn't mean too much until we learn to close people out.
chance feels hurt last less losing match michigan saying week wish
Losing that match (to Michigan last week) hurt badly. You come off that match saying 'Man, I wish I could've done this thing or that thing.' But now we have another chance less than a week later, so it feels great.
ahead continue hard point season work
I feel like we are ahead of where I thought we would be at this point of the season in singles. But we still have work to do to get where we need to be. We will continue to work hard and improve.
definitely glad night
It was definitely an interesting night, and I am glad we made it out alright. That was something that I have never experienced in my life.
ball beat champion david difficult great guy ice incredibly job lefty putting returning singles ten veins water
That guy that David beat ... was this year's Big Ten singles champion (Nolan Polley). David has ice water in his veins and just doesn't make mistakes. He did a great job of putting the ball in play and returning an incredibly difficult lefty serve.
