talent tremendous
He does everything you look for in a defenseman. He's a tremendous talent.
draft guys helm picks played poise
Helm has some speed, and May showed poise with the puck. As late-round draft picks they're young guys who have to get stronger, but they played well.
activity depends fall far happens next teams whether
There is going to be some activity around the league, whether there is going to be a lot depends on what happens (in the standings) over the next week. How many teams will fall far back enough out that they'll feel they are out (of the race)?
good happy hoping obviously player players skilled talented year
We're obviously very happy that we got Pavel back. He's a talented young player that had a very good year for us two years ago, and we're hoping for more of the same. With the new rules, I think skilled players like Pavel are really going to be helped.
deal either near nowhere number offers reach
We're nowhere near a deal with either player. We've made a number of offers and they've made offers, but we still have a long way to go to reach deals.
felt hopes scholars-and-scholarship season sit until wait
I just felt that it was appropriate to wait until the end of the season with Manny. Obviously, our hopes and expectations are to go all the way this spring. But when the season's over, I'll sit down and evaluate.
agent basically decision
His agent basically told me that Pavel would make his decision by Monday,
brings chris deal excellent experience great high matter passion red rink
Chris brings a great deal of experience and passion to the rink every day. He's been a great Red Wing, he's in excellent shape, and no matter what his age, you know he can play at a very high level.
confident great hockey left pleased red season steve
I'm very pleased to have Steve re-sign for another season with the Red Wings. I'm confident that he has a lot of great hockey left to play.
coming ends eventually hope however obviously red saying time wing word
Not really; they just need more time to make their decision. Obviously my hope is he ends up in a Red Wing uniform. However long it takes, hopefully, eventually we'll get a word saying he's coming back.
best hard help red steve works
If you are a Red Wing, and you see how hard Steve works to be successful, you can't help but give it your best effort.
desire help hockey passion
He still has the passion and the desire to play, and he's going to help this hockey team.
advantage call chance coming confidence create few great player prime scoring skill
He's really just coming into the prime of his career. I'd like to think his confidence level, and with the way they're going to call the game, which is going to be an advantage to a skill player ... he's a great addition. A great addition. I think for us, Pavel can make a play or do something that can create a scoring chance in a few moments.
decided glad
He put a lot of thought into this decision, and I'm glad he decided to return,
