We weren't able to string anything together. We had some chances to score late, but they made some nice plays in the field.

It was a good, well-played high school softball game. We hit some balls hard, but they made some good plays on them. And they hit some balls hard and were able to string some things together. It's just too bad we weren't able to win the game.

We finally got a couple of clutch hits when we needed them.

We just didn't hit the ball very well. We were out on our front foot and were hitting a lot of easy grounders to their fielders.

She battled real well. And she threw the ball well with nine strikeouts.
four level solid
We have four pretty solid varsity level pitchers. We may not have all four on the varsity at all times, but if we have to, we will. We have depth.
behind early helped lead nice relax top
We're still young, so it's nice to get out on top and not play from behind early on. Getting an early lead was beneficial, and it helped us relax and make plays.
