Kelly Greenberg
Kelly Greenbergwas the Boston University Women's Basketball Head Coachuntil she resigned in 2014 amid charges of abusing players. Allegations that she mistreated players first surfaced in 2007 when the coach admitted she made some serious mistakes that she deeply regretted. When four players left the team and gave up their $60,000 per year scholarships in 2014, an internal investigation concluded that "the manner in which Coach Greenberg interacted with many of her players was incompatible with the expectations and standards...
bounce game hard lucky players playing presence question talking team
I never ever question the team playing hard. I know I'm very lucky that I have 14 players that play hard all the time, but I think we just weren't talking and we didn't have that bounce in our step. I think if you come out and make yourself know and want to have a presence you have to talk, and that part of our game we didn't bring.
came entire experience game great happening loud players sat signed together worked
It was a great experience and great for our players. It was loud the entire time, even when nothing was happening in the game. After the game our players came out and sat with them, joked around and signed autographs. Everyone who worked to put it together did a great job.
graduation last move nice players shoot star stepped
She's really stepped up with the graduation of their star players from last season. She has a real nice step back move and can shoot out the three. She's really a player that, as a sophomore, has become their leader.
against definitely early finding great huge played player though
She played a great game. I thought Erica was definitely the player of the game. Early on when we scored against their zone, I think she was the one who made it happen, finding the seams in the zone, and I though she played huge for us.
abundance control fire good great played players pleased soon walked
We were very pleased with the way the team, players one through 14, played Saturday. Just as soon as we walked into Vermont's gym, there was this abundance of energy. It was great to see them come out on fire after halftime. I just thought we had good control of this game.
players
When we play with energy, we can play with anyone. I don't need to get our players up. They're self-motivated and they should be. We just know that we need to go in there and play our game.
blame factor fatigue hard nine period played players playing positive proud reason second smaller solid time using work
I don't think fatigue was a factor in all honesty. I was really proud of our players tonight. I think we played a very solid second half. We went with our two smaller forwards playing for a period of time there. We were down nine and we did a lot of really positive things. In all honesty, if fatigue ever is a factor I'm never using it as an excuse. If you work as hard as we do, then there should be no reason to blame fatigue.
coaching double four girls happy key players score staff sure team
All of the girls on the team know that they can score and that they can rebound. The key for us is to make sure that they can do that consistently and play the way they are capable. You're very happy as a coaching staff when you have four players in double figures.
anxious days hopefully
They've had a lot of days off now and they're very anxious to get back on the court. Hopefully we'll have them on Sunday.
care focusing girls goals locker room striving taking three walked
I walked in the locker room and the girls said, 'We're 3-0 right now in the new season,' and that's our thing - we have three more games, we're taking care of business. We have goals that we're focusing on defensively and offensively, and the girls are really striving for that. I think it's narrowed in our focus a little bit.
brought energy great half holding played points team
It was a great team effort. We brought great energy and we played very unselfishly. Us holding them to 23 points in the first half was huge.
burst came canada chance family game great head hitting night people senior values
It was one of those against-all-odds things. Not many people would have played, because there is a chance of hitting her head and having the stitches burst open, but Rachael said that she wanted to play. She's a senior so she values every game and her family came down from Canada to watch. It was a great night for them.
defensive focus miss rebound
We need to focus on the things we can control. We know we're going to miss shots, but we have to rebound and we have to get defensive stops, and we just didn't do that tonight.
bring definitely game good learned loss prepared single
We know that every single game we play is going to be tough. We definitely can't take anything for granted. I really think that's what we learned from the Stony Brook game. We have to not only be prepared but we have to bring it. If you have a loss and you can learn from it, that's a good loss.
