california good northern players polo southern water
Southern California is the hotbed of water polo. But Northern California has had good water polo for a long time. We don't find too many blue-chip players, but there are a lot of good players who get overlooked.
game year
Our first game is a game we should win. This is the first year we can say that.
against bay both early east environment game high home improved intensity playing polo pool since teams tougher water
Our first game against East Bay was early in the year. Both of our teams have improved since then, and playing them at their home pool is a much tougher environment than playing them here. We need to come out and play high intensity water polo right from the start.
barbara close confidence games good playing productive pulling santa start team three
Overall, it was a productive weekend. Three games in one day was challenging, but pulling out a close game to start off the day was really good for team confidence and playing UC Santa Barbara will only make us better.
adds against athletes attendance cal crowd definitely excitement extra fellow front help home incentive level perform players playing princeton respect santa sports state student sure team
Playing in front of a big crowd always adds to the level of excitement for a home game, and it will definitely help our team. Having fellow student athletes as a part of that crowd will help even more. Our team has a lot of respect for all the athletes at Santa Clara, and having players from every sports team at Santa Clara in attendance is going to be cool. I'm sure it is going to give our team extra incentive to perform well against Princeton and Cal State Monterey Bay.
adds against athletes cheering crowd definitely energy feed front game home mutual players ranked respect santa student team year
This was our first home game this year against a ranked team and having a big crowd really adds energy to the game and our players definitely feed off of that. The student athletes at Santa Clara have a mutual respect for one another so having them all cheering for the team really made us want to play well in front of them.
attack counter court dominant everybody expose half involved key last offensive push solid team
We are going to push the counter attack even more so than last year, and everybody will get more involved in the half court offense. We do not have one dominant offensive threat, but most everybody on our team has a solid offensive game. The key for us is to find and expose mismatches when we are on offense.
against air beginning force game good hard needed prettiest tough weekend
The game against Air Force was tough. They jumped out on us from the beginning and it was tough to come back. We battled hard against Pomona and it was good to see. It wasn't the prettiest game, but we did what we needed to do to win. This was a good weekend overall.
both came finishing good job nice played strong
In both games, I think we came out strong and played good defense. We did a better job finishing up our games, which was nice to see from the team.
