Larry had an opportunity and he made the most of that opportunity. Then at the end of the season when Kendrell was healthy we felt more comfortable with Larry in there knowing what he was doing. When you are out you know it on paper but it is hard to know it when the bullets are flying and things are going fast.

I've been trying to get to the Super Bowl all these years both as a player and coach and I look across the field and see the team I played with for 10 years, a team I have fond memories of and some time invested in. I'm happy for their fans that they're at this point, but I hope they don't win on Sunday.

Probably at some point in time during your life a young man kind of matures a little bit, ... Probably that, in conjunction with going over to NFL Europe, being out on the street, kind of seeing what real life is and then coming in and having a chance.

I've always enjoyed the game. I've always enjoyed the competition, probably more than anything. Once you've been doing something like that all your life, it's kind of hard just to stop doing it.

Rookie year, shoot. You try to come in here and play as a rookie and it is very tough. It takes time and experience to learn this defense. It is not only in the classroom but is also on the field.

He's a great athlete. He's very strong. He can cover. He can blitz. He's got the total package. He really does. What he does is put a lot of pressure on offensive tackles. You have to account for him as well as our defensive line. It makes it tough on people.

Yeah, sure, he was faking it. Tell anyone who would say something like that to take a shot like he did and we'll see how they're feeling.

We have seven pretty solid runners. No guys team here has ever made it to state.

Those two inside guys have the knowledge of our defense. That takes time and you have to be smart. You have to study, you have to be diligent and they have to learn to communicate. Our team is predicated on defense and Larry knows that.

It's funny that it took them moving to the NFC to get to the Super Bowl. It tells you a little something about the conferences. Hopefully, that will be true come (next) Sunday.

We had 10,337 people in the seats last Sunday, ... No church, no mosque, no synagogue in Michigan came close to that. Anybody like me is going to have detractors ... because I get things done.

I think the mayor is showing leadership ... And I also think he is sending a signal to his commission about the fast tempo he'd like to see things done. This can be done fairly quickly and he's suggesting that he'd like this done quicker rather than slower.
