game hardest ourselves quite seemed tight tournament
I've always said the first game of the ACC Tournament is the hardest to play. We seemed a little tight and not quite ourselves in that first half.
fare game half
We have to have that in a game like this. There was no way we could fare well having one half of our offense.
balls box defensive focus game great hands helped main playing save stretch
That was the main thing I wanted them to focus on was not to letup on the defensive end. Play great defense, box out and they got their hands on some balls down the stretch playing great defense. That really helped save the game for us.
bench came fortunate game great key played players role win
We are fortunate to come out of here with a win tonight. Billie McDowell had a great game for us and all of our players that came off the bench played a key role in our win.
ability game great others plays shooter
Megan's a great shooter and plays smart, hard-nosed basketball. She understands the game and has the ability to make others around her better.
badly game knew tired
It was effective. But we knew that would be a part of their game plan. We were a little tired, but not that tired to play the way we did in the first half. We should have done better, we know that. We feel badly for our fans, that we didn't give them more than we did today.
game thoughts win worry
It will be tough. But we have to win Game 1 before we worry about it, so it's not even in my thoughts right now.
blessed coached coaching games hard imagine mean special
Wow, it's hard to imagine coaching 1,000 games, but that does mean I have been in it for a long time. It is very special to have coached so many games and to have been blessed to do so.
ball confidence deep extremely felt fighting five game great happened hole level lose point rose shot start team
We know it's important with a team like that, and other really great teams, to start the game out strong, not to start to lose it in the first five minutes, which I felt happened to us today. From that point their confidence level really rose and they really shot the ball extremely well. We just got in a deep hole and then we were just fighting for our life.
bracket coming eat four games love rest saw tired win
This is now a mind-over-matter thing. We saw coming in that we would have to play four games in the bracket (to win the title). We'll go back and rest and we'll eat well. It's going to be a two-hour game. We love the game, so it's not like we're doing something we hate. How tired can we be? We can't be tired.
defensive expects five four game half intensity last means nobody pick second seemed somewhere tonight until win
Not to pick this game up tonight means we really have got to come through somewhere and win a game or two that nobody expects us to win. It just seemed that in the second half our defensive intensity wasn't there until the last four or five minutes.
basketball hate games
This is a mind over matter thing. We have to find it within ourselves to play for two hours. We love the game, so it's not like we're doing something we hate. We're doing something we love.
against caliber deep fighting fights-and-fighting overcome team
We just got in a deep hole, and then we're just fighting for our lives. We couldn't overcome that. I don't think we can overcome that against any team of that caliber when that happens.
hands maryland player soon talented teams
There's not a player for Maryland who's not a threat. We had our hands full. They one of the most talented teams in the country, and we'll see soon if they may be the very best.
