good happen heart lacks plays practice ready schooling shows stuff though work
Tanner has a big heart even though he's a little guy. And he comes to practice every day ready to play. The stuff he lacks in athleticism he has in smarts, the way he plays the game. It just shows if you work hard, good things will happen for you because now his schooling is for free.
challenge definitely hard team turn
It's definitely hard to turn it around, but this is just a challenge that this team is going to have to accept.
coming confidence definitely game halfway heading point road saturday ten tough victory
We're heading into the halfway point of the Big Ten schedule. We have a real tough road game coming up Saturday (against Michigan). To get a big victory like this going into a game like that is definitely a confidence booster for everybody.
bigger gets life people player playing post purpose shot vote
We know he's doing that on purpose but people who don't know basketball, they're like, 'What is he doing? But that's something he's been doing all his life because he's been playing down in the post a lot and he has had to be able to get his shot over bigger guys. He gets my vote for player of the year.
guys older push talent team younger
We're a young team but there are no excuses. We have the talent to do it; we just have to push the younger guys and some of the older guys along.
good hunt positive stay stretch ten
This stretch has not been good for us but we still have to stay positive because we're still in the hunt for the Big Ten championship.
against conference definitely deserves game gets guy hit job leading line people ranked scoring steps ten tried
A lot of people tried to write us off before the Big Ten started and here you have a guy who is leading the conference in scoring during conference games, he's undersized but he gets the job done and when the game is on the line he's going to hit big shots. He definitely steps his game up against ranked opponents. I just think he deserves it.
guards longer
They're a lot longer than we are, even their guards are longer than our guards.
bringing defense defensive feet good intensity job known matching moving past stretch week wisconsin
This past week we did a good job of communicating more and moving our feet more on defense and just bringing that intensity on the defensive end. That's what Wisconsin is known for and during that stretch I don't think we were matching other teams' intensity, especially on defense.
coach gone man shooter stuff throw trying work zone
Coach was trying to throw different stuff at them. When they were in the zone, he wanted me to work the wing. If they had gone man I would have gone back to the (point), but being in the zone he wanted a shooter on the other side. It was something new that he put in.
coming cost match second
Coming out in the second half, we didn't match their energy. That cost us.
came fired good intensity job matching played
They were fired up and we just didn't do a good job of matching their intensity for 40 minutes. We only came out and played one half.
ahead coach coming continue faster freshmen game great guys listening next ourselves people step together tough
I think we're coming together faster than I know a lot of people thought. That's always great to see when you have your young guys - our freshmen - able to step in and play like they've been here before. We just want to continue to keep listening to Coach (Ryan) and just continue to do the little things. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves because we know we have a tough game coming up next week.
job men playing stop
I think we have to do a better job of being men out there. I don't know how to say it but we have to stop playing like little boys, man.
