control last race today tough
I think the race for the Pac-10 will come down to the last week. We have to control what we can control, and today we didn't do that. It's a tough one to swallow.
aspect bit coaching played practice size talked team until
We've talked to our team a little bit about it, not necessarily the size of it. They've played in big arenas, but because of the baseline aspect of the coaching box. I'll be honest. I think it is something until you get out there in practice and actually coach and play on that floor, I don't know how we're going to feel.
itself next ready sort staff team
Who knows? You never know. What you do know is you keep your staff and your team ready for the next opponent. It's going to sort itself out right after the Pac-10 tournament.
ball felt goes hit hospital later question saw
I saw her look down. She told me later in the hospital that it felt like a ball had come in on the timeout, somehow, and hit her in the chest. It was always a question in her mind, what does it feel like when it goes off.
boards came defense energy fun running spirited team tremendous
I thought the team came out with tremendous energy today. We did it with spirited defense and got up on the boards and got into our running game. That's how we want to play. It was a lot of fun out there.
came consistent country great leave people program team vision
When Tara first came out west, a lot of people were scratching their heads. Why would she leave a team that was No. 7 in the country to take on a program that hadn't had much success? But she had a great vision for what the program could become and she's been consistent in that, day in and day out.
board entire hold offensive
We were able to do well on the offensive boards. But we were also able to hold them without an offensive board in the entire first half, and I don't think we've ever been able to do that.
both controlled halves played program team testimony win
We played very well for both halves and we controlled our rebounding. This was a big win for this program and a real testimony of what this team is all about.
won
We know we can do it. We've won on the road.
fight ugly win won
We have won ugly a lot this year. But a win is a win. If this was ugly, we will win ugly. We need to fight and buckle down for everything that we can get.
classic fall fought hard second short tough usc
We fought hard in the second half. It's tough to see us fall short at the end. It was a classic USC battle.
group players reason step talented willing
We have a very talented group of players who I know are more than willing to step up, and what better reason to step up than for Kayla Burt.
great group players reason step talented
We have a very talented group of players and now they have a great reason to step up with Kayla gone. What better reason to step up than Kayla Burt?
defense great heart intensity job people playing recognize takes teams three
We need the same old Cameo. Great intensity and jump-start us from the start. Rebounding all over the glass. And, defensively, I don't think people recognize what a great job she's doing playing three different positions. She really takes her defense to heart and is a big part of why we've been able to take teams out of their offense.
