asking best cut deals fair marty people publishers roll trying
Marty doesn't roll over for anyone. Everyone is trying to cut the best deals they can but some people think the publishers are asking for more than their fair share.
appealing lose money
You don't lose money by appealing to fans.
rights battle sync
This is a turf battle. They are saying, 'The songwriters aren't getting paid.' Baloney. Songwriters are getting paid. They're paid sync rights and (mechanical) rights. They aren't getting paid for the public performance in a download because there is no public performance in a download.

This is like loyalty clubs at the supermarkets.
thinking people mad
The record industry is still pissed off that other people are making money off their business, even if it promotes their products and increases their sales. I think they're still mad about radio.
technology want use
Just let me use the technology I want at a fair price.
believe water competition
