Jonathan Robert Papelbonis an American professional baseball relief pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. He was a member of the Boston Red Sox, with whom he reached four consecutive Major League Baseball All-Star Games from 2006 to 2009, won the 2007 Major League Baseball Delivery Man Award, and was a 2007 World Series champion. It was almost like he was part of the family. He always gave me confidence. He always said, 'Keep your head up high.' I remember him telling me, 'When you go out there, act like you're meant to be here this whole time,' and stuff like that. He always gave me that confidence. Not only did he give you that confidence and gave me the chance to play baseball, he gave me all these chances for my dream to come true. Not only did he do that, but I think we became friends. That's also means a lot to me as well.

I set my goals high, man. If you'd have told me I'd have 10 saves and hadn't given up a run, I'd have believed you. That's the way I go about it. It's not cocky, it's just confidence.

Every time I go out there, I try not to fear anybody. I always want to earn the respect of my teammates, and maybe I did that, but it feels good to hear you have guys who want you on the team.

When I was starting I would start getting mentally prepared before the game. Now, I'm getting mentally ready during the game. There really isn't that much of a difference.
