best counts good hard healthy job looks playing stay
It looks like we have the best staff, but it is hard to say. You have to stay healthy and you have to go out and do the job and you have to be playing good baseball, especially when it counts the most.
counted people spring training written
A lot of people counted us out before spring training even started. We already were written off in a lot of people's books.
division fourth guarantee people picked realize tough win
A lot of people out there will be disappointed (whenever the Sox don't win), because I guarantee we won't be picked to come in fourth in our division this year. There are different expectations this year, and there should be, but I don't think people realize how tough it is to win a World Series.
column win
When it comes down to it, it's one in the win column for the team. That's what really matters.
happy love
I love the city. It's where I wanted to play, where I wanted to be. And I'm happy to be there.
believe chance compete people team
I really don't, ... People probably wouldn't believe me if I said that, but I don't. I just want to go out and compete and give my team a chance to win.
anxious hopefully
Hopefully it doesn't make me too strong, ... I've just been really anxious to get on the mound.
chance confidence distance giving good short shown win year
He's shown the confidence in us and let us go the distance pretty much all year if it's our game, ... That's good to see out of a manager. Without that short leash, he's always giving you a chance to win a ballgame.
absolutely against drives fits guys love stand
He's one of those guys who when you play against him, you absolutely can't stand the guy. He drives you nuts. But on your team, you love it. He fits in here.
happened offense pressure roll took
I didn't try to do too much. The offense took the pressure off me with a three-spot in the first inning, and things happened to roll from there.
ability knew matter prove putting
I didn't prove anything to myself because I knew I could do it. I knew I had the ability. It was a matter of putting it together.
roll seems starts
When one person starts it off, it all seems to roll from there.
baseball best happened happens kid moving time traded understand white
It happens all the time in baseball these days, trades, moving around. It happened to me in '98 as a young kid getting traded to the White Sox. It's business. You've got to understand that. If it would have happened, it would have happened and I would have made the best of it.
against bullpen deal hitters nobody rather somebody standing threw
I take it in stride. It's one of those things you have to deal with, you have to overcome. I went out and threw against some of my own hitters again, just so I could see somebody standing in the box, rather than a bullpen when nobody is there. It's tough. Nothing is like the real game.
