I've never known anyone that is a better manager of people or is a harder worker than Kessel. His willingness to jump in and help take on public-private partnerships is legendary.
Every day, we get concerned about the age of the school buses in this county. You've got to keep in mind that they're built as buses to start with, and they carry young people who may not treat them as if they were their very own, so to have these buses running 13 or 14 years ... is not the best way to do business.
As I told one parent, we appreciate the generosity, but every drop of fuel that we put in a bus is fuel that could have gone in an ambulance or emergency vehicle trying to help the relief effort.
