John Andrew Smoltz, nicknamed "Smoltzie" and "Marmaduke," is an American former baseball pitcher who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1988 to 2009, all but the last year with the Atlanta Braves. Some guys can do it for a while, then burn out. Some guys can't do it at all. I think it's the most challenging thing in the game.
