We made a living the last year and a half closing games out down the stretch. We'd get to the foul line, make baskets and close games out. We didn't do that (yesterday).

I've been coaching a long time and this might be my most satisfying year. With all that the girls went through, they've never accepted less and given less than their best.

We fought through a lot this year. My goal as a coach is to outplay and outwork everyone we play. We might have lost, but these girls have shown a lot of heart. There's nothing else you can ask for.

A lot of people thought once we lost (Samara) we weren't going to win anymore. Obviously after we lost (Sofia), no one believed in us. The kids took it as a personal affront. When you have a good team that is an angry team, that's a good combination to have.

You need more than six or seven players on a team. You need all 12, and we've used all 12.

I think that we came out tight and nervous. We weren't making our shots, but I told the girls that we had to keep defending and rebounding. Eventually, we had a few shots fall and then everyone seemed to relax.
