John Clark LeClairis a retired American professional ice hockey player who played 16 seasons in the National Hockey Leaguewith the Montreal Canadiens, Philadelphia Flyers, and Pittsburgh Penguins. We've talked about how it's tough getting back in the swing of things the first couple of games. You're not quite up to speed. That stuff takes time. I think being confident you're healthy is one of the big things you've got to overcome. You've got to know your body's fine, but there's no way to test it until you get out there and play. Once you pass that test, things work well.

We really got to work on making ourselves accountable earlier. We put ourselves behind the eight-ball and it makes it a tough game.

You would think so. If you look at the way the team's been shaping up and the way things have been going, this team's about the future. You have to build for the future. You don't know how realistically a guy like me is part of the future.

Mark didn't exactly have to sell me hard on Pittsburgh at all. The Penguins, after all the moves they had made, weren't really a hard sell.

I think, obviously, there was some uncertainty as to what was going on around here. Now that it's over, you look around and this is what we've got and this is what we've got to work with. ... We kind of talked about it that we have to make the best of it.

I had the goalie on the play. It was a good job by everybody. We just worked hard for every loose puck and it was a lucky bounce. I just got my stick on it, fortunately.

I want to play again. I have another year on my contract, and we'll take it from there. As of (Wednesday) I'm planning on playing next year.

I don't think there's any pressure. It's pretty obvious we're not going to make the playoffs. It's about playing for pride and some self-respect, and that's why you're seeing guys play really hard.
