I think our chemistry is a lot better. I definitely think they know what I expect, and they're working hard to get it done. And I understand the kids a lot better.

I just talked to my owner, and he's negative. We're an Oakland institution. We've been in Oakland since 1921 and in this location about 25 years.
against high knock opponent preparing ready sitting time
Any time you're sitting at the top, everyone's going to try to get you. But we have to knock them off one by one. Abilene High is our only opponent we've been preparing for all week, and we're ready to play against them.
defense earlier emphasis game good point strong
(Skinner) pitched well for us, and we had a good game defensively from everyone. Earlier during the season, defense was not a strong point of emphasis for us. So it was good to see that.

Their droppings go in the water, they're around playgrounds, the health department has declared them a hazard. And they breed fast. A chicken will lay a dozen eggs, and they'll hatch in 29 days.

I had no idea. Not in my wildest dream that I would be sitting 14 hours from my house as we speak.
boys couple defensive difference great half proud second
I'm very proud of these boys. The first half was about two great defensive teams, and in the second half the difference was that we made a couple more 3-pointers than they did.

I couldn't be prouder of the crew who helps put this meet on. They're drying out and everybody is still here, working hard.

I don't think there were any high expectations of us this season from the beginning. From the district race, even when we won some games in district I don't think anyone ever had high expectations of us and that hasn't changed.
nervous people
