John Huarte
John Gregory Huarteis a former American football quarterback. He played college football at the University of Notre Dame for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team and won the Heisman Trophy in 1964. He then played professionally with a number of teams in the American Football League, the National Football League, and the World Football Leaguebetween 1965 and 1975. I was just as surprised by that as I was when I won the Heisman. It's a great honor and it's nice to know that even so many years later people still remember what I did in football.

I separated my shoulder in practice and the three team doctors all agreed that I needed to have surgery. Ara was skeptical, so he sent me to a specialist in Chicago who told me to just leave it alone and the soreness will go away. I took his advice and it never bothered me again.
