beat both dictated great job walked
Mo did a great job with both Manny and Ortiz. He made his pitches, and if they were going to beat him, they were going to beat him on his pitches. He walked both of them, but he kind of dictated the at-bats.
chance good hopefully randy
With Randy on the mound, we feel we have a good chance to win. Hopefully we will play better defense.
anybody harder sharper throws
With Randy, it's pretty straightforward. What he throws is just harder and sharper than anybody else.
pitching quality seems time
We're pitching well right now. Every time we go out there, it seems like we're getting a quality start. Hopefully, that will continue.
call miss pitch prepare throws
With every pitcher, if you call a pitch you know where he's going to miss if it's not right so you prepare for it. With Wake, I don't think you have that luxury. If he throws a knuckleball, you just don't know where it's going to go.
ball looking running saw seen straight year
We saw a lot more strikeouts looking inside, which we haven't seen all year from Randy. He was able to keep that ball in there, keep it straight in there where it's not running back over the plate.
announcing emotions fans managers mixed ride thank
It is with mixed emotions that I am announcing my retirement. Thank you to all of my teammates, coaches, managers and fans for making the ride so much fun.
double looking quite throw
It was looking like a tailor-made double play. The throw wasn't quite where we wanted it.
good home last playing
It's not a deterrent. There's nothing like playing here, like having the last at-bat. But we feel good about ourselves, home or on the road.
ball dominating jumping slider velocity
The ball was jumping out of his hand. His velocity jumped up with it, his slider was tighter and he had a dominating performance.
friendship
It's a story about friendship and making new friends.
boyhood career dreams fans league major managers red ride thank
I started my career with the Red Sox and proceeded to live out my boyhood dreams in Major League Baseball. Thank you to all of my teammates, coaches, managers and fans for making the ride so much fun.
change focus grind team
We got to where we want to be, but it doesn't change the focus of this team at all. This is going to be a grind all the way out.
lost stretch
To be up, 3-0, and not be able to stretch it out, ... that's probably where we lost it.
