couple everybody goes next official printed release schedule time turning weeks within
Within the next couple of weeks we'll release the official 'Car of Tomorrow' schedule and that will be the official schedule. We'll say, 'Here it is, we're not turning back.' -- The important thing is to get that official schedule out, because when it goes out it's printed and everybody says, 'here's the deal,' and then it's time to get going.
address along aware conversation easier meet offense past penalty situation softer somebody topic treated
We're aware of Chad's past penalties. Is it a topic of conversation as we meet about the penalty? Yeah, briefly, but it's a lot easier for us to address each penalty situation on its own, with its own merits, but along with that, it's not that much different in the world we live in: A first-time offense for somebody is a lot of the times treated a little softer than somebody that has a history.
ability cars evidence inspection outside parts pieces prove react
Without clear-cut evidence in the parts and pieces and the thing we do in inspection that would prove the cars to be outside the rulebook, we don't have the ability to react to that.

We've made a ton of progress with it over the winter and it's down to small changes now. We're doing a lot of work with the wing right now to test it out and see how it's going to work. It has been real positive. We will keep pressing on and in '07 it will race.

judgment penalties small
There's a small part of it that's judgment calls, ... but I think in today's world, when penalties are issued, there's no judgment about it. It's black-and-white.
build chose direction everybody fond inspection parts passed regard shocks teams
Everybody passed inspection and all of the shocks, in regard to parts and pieces, were completely legal. But the build of the shocks that the teams chose to use is a direction that we're not real fond of.
attempting bump calls control daytona drafting forward hopefully painful quickly quite reason subjective
As we go forward in attempting to control bump drafting in those areas, there's going to be some very subjective calls being made. That's the reason we'd like to get this under way as quickly as possible. Hopefully we don't have to make a call. But if we do make a call in the twins, it wouldn't be quite as painful as having to make it in the Daytona 500.

definitely designed dollars eliminate huge lab purpose quite race running spending taking talking thousands three tire tires weeks
The tire-leasing is not specifically designed to eliminate testing. It has the huge purpose of eliminating tire testing. I'm not talking about running a race track; I'm talking about taking 50 tires to an independent lab and spending hundreds of thousands of dollars testing. It's definitely designed to eliminate that. And quite frankly, we're only three weeks into that, but it's working pretty good.
assembly assist build controls device frequency intended intent jack prefer rules shock simply spirit spring within
However, the shock build -- that is the assembly of the shock and what the shock is intended to do with that build -- it's not within the spirit and the intent of what our shock absorber rules surround. Simply put, we prefer that shock absorbers are used for shock absorbers, which is a device which controls the frequency of a spring, not to be a spring assist or a jack or anything else.
assembly build cars confines intended intent parts passed pieces rule rules shock spirit tested within
The cars passed postrace inspection, ... The shock absorbers themselves, after being tested and disassembled and everything, all of the parts and pieces were well within the confines of the rule book. However, the shock build -- the assembly of the parts and what the shock it intended to do -- it's not within the spirit and the intent of what our shock absorber rules surround.
