Mark has a great reputation for developing players and forming relationships with players. He has good character, and other coaches that I have spoken with have nothing but high praise for Mark. We've got a schedule that makes sense. We have marquee teams on the schedule. It's one I think is very workable and one our players will enjoy, our fans will enjoy. It allows us to compete in the ACC and have a chance to win some non-conference games, but at the same time challenge our program and go to some places with great football tradition.

I think the improvement stems from more experience in our scheme. Also our players are becoming more mature and we have an eight-man rotation in our defensive front four. That has really helped. We also have more depth at linebacker and in the secondary.

These quarterbacks that are going to be competing throughout summer camp and there's no way to know how it will work out. It's fun to see that competition and see them both getting better. Both guys can operate in the pocket and outside the pocket. The only difference is that Joe has been under center 11 times before (at Nebraska).

The speed of this game that we play, it's so much (faster) than practice. You've heard me talk about playing fast in practice and speeding things up. That's the reason. That's a big advantage, and there's nothing we can do about it.
