ball drag guy hit paid park shift takes thank
Usually if you have a shift on, they're paid to hit, not paid to bunt. That's a guy that can hit the ball out of the park with any pitch. With Giambi, if he takes a drag bunt, thank you for the single.
perform rookie special
I haven't really thought of it that way. He's a special player. So it's not like I was going to come in here right off, especially as a rookie catcher, and perform to his level.
call eliminate matter picking pitch signals situation teams
It has a lot to do before the pitch ever starts, to eliminate other teams picking up signals or something I may be tipping. So I look the same, no matter what the situation or a call or whatever.
playing
Just say today's the day and keep playing hard. Hopefully, it's going to end tomorrow.
against catch hit hopefully indicate
He said I hit pretty well against him, so hopefully that will indicate I can catch pretty well against him.
both fit kept low slider whatever
He's kept his sinker low and located his slider on both sides. Whatever I read about him, he's fit to a tee.
arm exciting
He's got the most exciting arm in camp.
doubt experience help mental plus support
He has a little experience as a closer, plus there's no doubt about his stuff. It's all about the mental challenge, and we've got the support here to help him through that.
ahead good
He had a good slider. He was getting ahead of the hitters.
faced last looked looks year
He looked pretty solid. I faced him last year and he looks just as good.
hate single
What do you think? We hate it every single day.
exactly miss opposite pounding
He didn't miss it. Everything was down to Damon. We had been pounding Jeter in all day, so we wanted to go down and away with the splitter. Instead, it was up - exactly the opposite of where we wanted it.
felt hurt putting situation
It felt good, ... with what our situation is and what their situation is. And they'd been putting the hurt on us all year.
drove eat field saw signs street top
We even saw the street that I drove down every day to eat and go to the field and it was completely under water. You can see the top of the street signs and that's it. It's a shock. I don't know what they're going to do down there.
