freshman sophomore start talent
The outstanding ones are usually gone. You have to start over with freshman and sophomore talent.
answered best continue win
We answered Ole Miss' best shot. If they continue to play like that, they're going to win a lot of games.
checked early fell floor foul freshman honestly lie master miss seconds trap twice whoever worked
Well, not really. That wasn't the master plan. We were scrambling. We wanted to trap twice and then foul whoever had the ball. And honestly I thought we fouled a little early (with 24.4 seconds to go), but it worked out. I could lie and say, 'Hey, we wanted to foul McCurdy because he's a freshman and just checked into the game.' But it was one of those things that worked out. And then I thought we were going to miss the rebound. It fell on the floor there a little while.
against arkansas bad close decided either games good home lost played points south team three
Unfortunately they've lost some close games, but I don't look at a team as good or bad if two or three games were decided by three points either way. Arkansas played really well at home against South Carolina, and we'll have to be much better than we were against Alabama.
break certainly draw feet free hit precisely rise run
We didn't run it precisely like we could draw it on the board, but certainly we did enough, and he was able to break free for just long enough to set his feet and rise up and hit a big shot.
hard healthy playing pushing toward
We're not very healthy at all right now, but we're going to keep playing hard and pushing toward what we want to accomplish.
field free line offensive positive
When you're not making field goals, one positive thing you can do at the offensive end is get to the free-throw line and make free throws.
defended foul free game good helped line press won
We won the game because we defended, our press helped us and we got to the foul line and made free throws. I think because we defended pretty good the whole game, we got to the foul line.
ball double hand men mitchell post run screen shoot stagger
We didn't have any timeouts, so we have a 45 set that we put Darrel Mitchell in a corner, and we hand him the ball and have our two post men (Davis and Thomas) go run and set a double stagger screen on him and just let him find a way to shoot it.
knew players previous similar state team tournament won
When we won in 1990 we had a similar set-up with most of our players back from the previous year. We had been to the state tournament before and when we got there again, we just weren't going to lose. We knew what we had to do. This team has that same kind of experience. They know what it's going to take.
easy focus miss seen
Our focus wasn't there. It was kind of a workmanlike win. It was a win, but I've never seen us miss that many easy buckets. It was a win.
anybody
They said no. They didn't want anybody in there.
bother face grade known maybe since teams trust whatever
They trust one another and maybe a little more than some other teams because they have known each other since they were in grade school. Maybe that allows them to face whatever, being nervous, to take on whatever comes. They don't let anything bother them.
ball double guys high run stayed
They stayed with the double team. A lot of guys hedge him high and then run back. They stayed with it and made him give the ball up.
