believe coaches faith guys job lost team trying
There have been times when the coaches didn't believe in me and times when the guys on the team didn't believe in me (but), I never lost faith in myself. I've been trying to get a job back.
football help second stepped stuff trying win worrying
It's like the second I stepped into Detroit. I'm trying to do everything I can to win football games. Worrying about that stuff isn't going to help anything.
approach blue build criticized football great insisted positive rip seeing starts steadily taken team throat tough trying work
It's tough because there are times when I just want to rip someone's throat out, but I've taken the approach of trying to steadily build something. The thing is -- and I've been criticized for it -- I've tended to take the positive out of every situation. I've insisted on it. They've called me 'Joey Blue Skies' and said that I'm not seeing what's actually going on here. Well, I am seeing what's really going on here: We're a young team trying to build something, and when it starts to work -- not if, but when -- we'll be a great football team.
blocks good knows stuck time touched trying
He said, 'I'm trying to make too many big plays,' ... He was trying to make a big play each time he touched the ball, when really if he stuck with his blocks and what he knows how to do, good things will happen.
bargain best bust everybody fall hold trying
Hold up your end of the bargain. Get out there and bust (your tail) trying to do your best for your teammates. And when you hold up your end of the bargain and you are accountable to everybody else on the team, things fall into place.
build couple far flowing game guys musical pace players playing relationship sort tough trying
The pace of the game flowing down has everything to do with you being comfortable. My first two years here, we were playing musical receivers, rotating guys in and out of the lineup, guys getting hurt. It was a tough couple years as far as trying to build any sort of comfortable relationship with any of the players out there.
correctly games mistakes turned
Everything went wrong, ... We made mistakes on things that we have been doing correctly all season. It turned into one of those games where we just couldn't do anything right.
decisions good hour relationship talking today
We didn't make any ground-breaking decisions in an hour and a half. We've been talking off and on for a while now. We've got a good relationship like that. So nothing was said today that hasn't been said already. We're just going to have to wait.

anybody came everybody finger locker nobody point room
Blunt. He was the same way everybody was. He came in. He said, 'We all got beat, and nobody in this locker room can point a finger at anybody else.' And that's what everybody in the room believed.
hear
Tell me how I'd hear about it? ... Don't know. Don't want to know. Doesn't matter.
behind far five games left playing pride reality
There's five games left in the season. I don't know how far we're behind the Bears, but the reality is we're probably playing for pride now.
ability best biggest catch chance defender fastest hesitant last natural position proved roy speed throw tough year
There's nothing that Roy doesn't do well. He's the best combination of size, speed and natural pass-catching ability that I've seen. He's not our fastest receiver, and he's not our biggest receiver. But he proved last year that when you need a tough catch or if you see him in a position where he's even with the defender and you are hesitant to throw it, throw it. Give him a chance and he'll catch it.
matt president
That would make Lions' president Matt Millen look like a genius. For once in his life.
