If they left you, you didn't need them. If they walked away, they weren't part of your DESTINY.
But I want to motivate. I wanna motivate every person to leave here to be a better father, a better husband, to break addictions to come up higher in their walk with the Lord.
You were not created to just get by with an average, unrewarding, or unfulfilling life. God created you to leave your mark on this generation.
Sometimes, God uses difficult people, like sandpaper, to rub the rough edges off us.
I've learned a simple principle: all I have to do is be the best 'me' that I can be. One day when I read the Scripture about David, that he fulfilled his purpose for his generation. I knew God spoke to me.
We never like to miss an opportunity to make Jesus the Lord of our life. That's why I never like to have a service without giving an invitation or writing a book, without giving an invitation and presenting that truth. I believe this is the whole key to living your best life, living a fulfilled life or becoming a better you.
God honors obedience, and He has distinct plans for us. I think the dreams that God puts in our hearts, we can fulfill. He's equipped us for that.
I realize that as quick as you go up, you can really come down that quick. And we've seen it happen with others.
We can all control our own destiny. And I think sometimes it's a copout to say, "Well, it's this person's fault or another person's fault."
Some people keep God in a Sunday morning box and say, 'Hey, I did my religious duty.' That's fine, but the scripture says to pray without ceasing. And I think that means all through the day you're talking to God. Even if it's in your thoughts.
Our whole message is it's easy to just keep preaching to the church and people that already come.
I'm for everybody. You may not agree with me, but to me it's not my job to try to straighten everybody out. The Gospel is called the good news. My message is a message of hope, that's God's [message] for you. You can live a good life no matter what's happened to you.
There's plenty about God that I don't understand and can't explain. But I come back to my core belief that God is good, that He's for us.
I think Bible principles are principles for life.
