We certainly need him in the lineup, whichever way he's better for us. Whichever way is easier for him, that's the way we'll have to go.
We're certainly interested, we know that. He could be someone that could fit in.
I thought Hernandez was pretty damn good, but Randy was certainly equal to the task. He was terrific; he just dominated.
Bubba showed some signs. It took a little time for Donnie (Mattingly) to convince me that he was a different hitter. Again, he's not a world-beater but the fact he's made some adjustments offensively certainly made him an option in postseason play and in important games down the stretch, which never would have been an option before.

I don't dislike Lou because people ask me about him hovering over there, ... If George wants Lou, or anybody else to manage, that's certainly his prerogative. The fact that he's available, it's never really bothered me.
It's pressure, sure. But it's a good pressure, because George Steinbrenner certainly puts his money where his mouth is. He certainly spends money to put players in the clubhouse.
It took me three times to get a 'hello' out of him the other day. But he certainly has a great deal of poise for a young pitcher.
They certainly had their way with us this year. They have risen to the occasion.
We spoiled (Steinbrenner) by winning four World Series in five years. But it's certainly worth everything that goes with it.
We understand that there will be certain games when one run will be huge. Even though we're capable of big things here, we have to diversify our attack a little bit.
They get men on base, they can run, ... And if you look at the formula, it's the same that Minnesota has used to win ballgames, and the Angels have used. They play good defense. Their outfielders overlap. If you're ever going to get them, it's going to be their pitching, and we haven't had success against their pitching. ... Are they in our heads? How can I say no, when you haven't had success against certain pitchers and you face them?
That's going to take a lot of thought, I guess is the best word, ... Only because you certainly don't want to do anything physically that's going to hurt him. I won't know if he's available. But if he is, as the game flows, if you're sitting down there with me, you're going to have the same thoughts I am. You're going to see where you are, see what's happening, and certain people just come into your mind as far as doing things.
I said I thought the umpire was quick on the trigger but I thought you snapped. I also told him I certainly don't want to take that emotion from him. I don't want him out there worried about what he's going to say or do. Hopefully, I'll get to him before it happens again. I never want to take his passion away from him because I think he needs it to pitch.
