He kept the ball off the fat of the bat really well. He lived up to his scouting report. But it comes down to being able to do what you want to do, and it looked like he was able to do that.
He just didn't have the feel for pitching that he normally has. I think the red flag was up when he starts walking people and getting behind in a lot of counts.
He knows how to pitch. It's good to have him and the Big Unit to carry us, especially when we have a couple of young guys following.
The only thing I wanted him to do was have a plan, ... To me, being in between is worse than being wrong, because when you're in between, you're never right. So that was basically the conversation.
The only thing I've said to him is: 'You've already established who you are. There's nothing for you to do that has to be any different from that. The way I judge people is not necessarily where they go eat dinner or where they build a house, it's just how they play between the lines. And the way he plays the game, it would be tough for him not to fit in anywhere.
He doesn't seem to be overwhelmed by it.
He doesn't need a day off, Cairo needs a day to play. If you're going to do it, you may as well find a guy that's been tough on left-handers.
He felt his back a little bit, but that's an ongoing situation. He's got some physical things to deal with.
He feels fine, but when he does all his drills, he still feels it a little. It doesn't hurt or restrict him, but it's there.
He felt something. I don't think it's going to keep him out for long.
He does things that drive hitters nuts. I've never seen a pitcher get so many ground balls back to the mound. That's all about movement.
Having George meet with him -- he doesn't meet with people just for the sake of meeting them. He's certainly thinking in terms of helping our ball club.
He'll tell us if he can't pitch, ... If Moose is right he's the guy you came here with and you certainly trust him.
He'll play here in the next couple days.
