bitter consistent finish league teams
It's going to come to the bitter end. This year's league is very competitive and the two teams that finish consistent from here on out will go to state.
best course finished good line picked race
It was Clay's best race of the year. He picked a really good line through the course and finished strong.
behind finish kept less matter points talk third
Talk about parody, it was only a matter of two points that kept us from a third place finish behind Reno. And we were less than 50 points behind the first place finisher (Galena).
average exceed fifth finished goal player players possible qualified regions rest shot
If we would have had one more player and he shot the average of the rest of the guys, we would have finished around fifth place or better. Our goal now is if we can't get qualified as a team, that we get as many of our players to the regions as possible and the way they're improving, we could just exceed our expectations.
dedicate eventually game necessary overnight pays practice results short tame team time willing
(The short game) does tame time and patience. The team is willing to dedicate the necessary time to improve. The results don't come overnight - it's a game where a lot of practice eventually pays off.
despite good
Radford had a really good run. He skied really well despite the conditions.
few great next reason since
We had a lot of great competitors and since most are underclassmen, there's no reason we shouldn't do better for the next few years.
effort extra matt might pleased
I was very pleased with Matt Smith's race, he put in extra effort and we might not have made it (to state) without him.
season shave shoot strokes
We do have to shave strokes off our game. We'll have to shoot consistently in the 70s if we want to do well this season and I think we can.
eight guys stepped teams
We had only eight competitors, while the other teams had at least eight. And these guys really stepped it up when they had to.
putting short tee work
From tee to green, we're great. But our putting killed us. We really have to do a lot of work on our short game.
capable five lower scores shooting starters
We need at least two scores in the mid-70s to be competitive. All five of our starters are capable of shooting lower scores.
bottom final four gun guys happened state sure takes top until
What happened to Eli could have happened to us just as easily. Our place at state isn't a sure thing until the final gun sounds. All it takes is for your top two guys to go down and then it's up to the bottom four to make up the points.
extra flawless impressed kids lack pressure six stepped team
We only had six skiers, which put extra pressure on the team to be as flawless as they could be. But I have to say that I was really impressed with how the kids stepped up and compensated for the lack of depth.
