fans great
I was there when I was 6 years old. I've been there a lot. It's a great ballpark. It's a great atmosphere, day-in, day-out. The fans are great.
exciting fans fun
I want the fans to know we're going to be an exciting and fun team. We're going to play hard.
best bring close fans game lose sure
We are going to lose some close games, but fans have to be sure that we'll bring our best game every night.
change club enjoy fan job manager people player stands watching whether
The only way that as a manager or as a player that we can change that is for our club to play better and for people to enjoy watching our club. My job is to get our club to win, whether there's one fan in the stands or 60,000. People like winners.
bounce fans guys smart today win
Young guys bounce back. Fans are smart enough to know you're not going to win every game. I think everyone that was here today will be back at some point.
believe enjoy fans mean style
I believe Marlins fans will enjoy the style of this team, which is young, but that doesn't mean that it's bad.
area build fan fans good huge miami time
The fans want to see a good product. This is a young organization - it hasn't been around 50 years like others. It's going to take time for the Miami area to build up a huge fan base.
fan hurts takes
I'm not a big fan of doubleheaders. I think it takes a lot out of your players. It not only hurts them that day but it hurts them down the road.
kept
Too many 2-0 counts. But he kept us in the game.
innings season setting start
We just need to get a lot of innings in for a lot of people. We'll start setting up for the season after this round.
difficult game hit runners ugly win
It was an ugly game for us. We didn't pitch, we didn't play defense, we didn't hit with runners on. It's difficult to win a game like that.
beat home run second solo third
The solo (homer) doesn't kill you in the second inning. It's the home run in the third that really hurts. Howard beat him today.
bottom picked pile protect ran series sixth thinking trying won
I started thinking about it in the sixth inning. At the end of the game, I ran out and picked him up. I was trying to protect him. I had been on the bottom of the pile when we won the World Series in 1996, and it wasn't much fun.
game keeps
Is it unfair? In a sense, yes. But I think we all know why we're doing it that way, and that's part of what makes this game tick. It's what keeps salaries up.
