catcher felt guy strides
I think I made most of my strides as a catcher working under him. He is the one guy I really felt I had to have.
ball giving handling hit means move seldom taking zone
I think he's handling it great. I don't think he is going out of his zone a lot. He's taking what they give him. You see him always hit the ball to the right side, if that's what they're giving him. Very seldom do you see him move his swing. That means to me he is handling it great.
catch great pitchers spring time training year
I think he'll play catch up most of spring training just because of the time he's missed. He's going to play catch up the whole year really ... but that's OK. A lot of great pitchers have had to do it.
spring time training
I think he will play catch-up most of Spring Training because of the time that he's missed.
guys learn watch watching
I think guys will look up to Pokey. I know I like to watch him play. Guys will learn by watching him.
along believe best instructor next obviously points progress six sure
It all points to how he progresses over the next six weeks. Obviously we want him to get his at-bats. We've said it all along -- we believe he is going to be in the lineup somewhere. We're just not sure where. But he's got the best instructor you can have. We'll see how much progress he makes over the next six weeks.
continues credit days difficult gary goes happy josh mean strides
I think Josh has made a lot of strides in the 10 days, 12 days we've been here. If he continues to progress, it's going to be a very, very difficult decision. I'm really happy with that. But that doesn't mean he doesn't keep working. I'm happy with the progress. A lot of that credit goes to Gary Tuck.
behind plays score threw
I thought he threw better than the score indicated. We didn't make some plays behind him and that's when things happened.
came corner guys lived outside
Patterson lived on the outside corner and came in when he had to. He didn't give our guys much to hit.
good hitters pitchers standing throw
I thought we had a very good day. Pitchers were able to throw with hitters standing in.
clearer monday
I think by Monday things will be a lot clearer to everyone.
concern great hurt though
I think that's every manager's and every organization's concern about this, even though it's great for baseball. But they can get hurt here, too.
hit player squeeze
That was the kind of player I had to be. I had to do the little things to win, and they have to do a lot of them. They have to hit and run, they have to steal, they have to squeeze some,
That was devastating because I thought I'd never be back.
