We'd had three tough losses in a row and everybody was down. I think our players said to themselves: 'Our backs are up against the wall and we've got no other option other than just to win, and if we lose another game we're probably out.' So they kind of took it as this last stand, and it was that way every week . . .somehow we found a way to win those last five.
Why this would happen to us? I don't know. We've had three tough losses and a total of five tough losses. I wouldn't want a different group to coach. These are the guys I like. It's up to us, and we're going to see what's going to happen down the road.
That's about three of the toughest losses I've been through, ... This is going to be a real test for us. We'll see what we're made of here.
The contract I signed wasn't for three or four years. It was for five years.
We always want to get him in the game plan. We always want to get him the ball. Last week against Dallas, he only had three catches, but they were all big. He was one of the keys to us offensively and we try to work hard to get him the ball.
You win and you're in; you lose and you're out. We've been in that situation the past four weeks, ever since the three (consecutive) losses (in November).
All three games came down to the last play,
We're going to try a couple of other things this week,
We're going to go with two kickers until John is healthy, and then we'll make a decision, ... We are thin at some other positions, but we don't have a choice at this point.
We felt like we kind of backed up there. We were fortunate to get out of some things with some rolls and stuff, ... It was just an evaluation thing. We like Andy, we just felt like we need to make a move for the team.
We felt like we had some other players that fit the role for us and do a lot of things for us. It was a competitive thing.
We're going to have to work our way through that, ... It's going to be a big topic of discussion. We've got Chris here with a short work week, so we've got to do a real good job of evaluating that.
We're going to have to wait that out, ... But if I had to guess right now, I think it would make it tough for him to make it back for Monday night. We'll just have to work our way through that situation and see what's the best way of handling that.
Unless I missed something, that should have been 15 yards if I have ever seen it. We are supposed to be watching the quarterbacks and protecting them.
